Setting Lower and Upper Limits on Auto-Mode
Allocation Plan Part 6: Constraining Automatic Allocation Recommendations
Why Use Limits in Auto-Mode?
Madden's Auto-mode is a powerful tool. It uses machine learning and sales history to suggest the optimal allocation quantities for your products. But, the system must always respect the physical realities of your business, like limited store display space.
This is where Limits come in: they allow you to apply practical, human constraints to Madden's smart suggestions.
How to Set Limits on Auto-Mode Allocation
When your allocation mode is set to Automatic Mode:
Click Set Limits to open the constraint panel.
You can now set two constraints to guide the system: the Lower and the Upper Limit.
Limit Type | Role | Use Case Example |
|---|---|---|
Lower Limit (Floor) | Enforces a guaranteed minimum quantity. | For instance, if you want to secure at least 5 units for visual merchandising or display purposes, you set the Lower Limit to 5. Madden won't allocate less than this amount. |
Upper Limit (Ceiling) | Defines a hard cap, preventing overstocking. | If a store can physically only fit 7 units of a large item, setting the Upper Limit to 7 prevents Madden from recommending excess stock. |
Madden will then calculate its Auto-mode suggestion, ensuring the final recommended quantity respects both your Lower and Upper Limits. This makes sure your allocation is smart and practical.
