Product update

We’ve spent the summer fine-tuning some requested features for you in Madden. From making it easier to optimize your purchase and transfer orders to introducing smoother Excel imports, these updates are designed to keep your workflow efficient and adaptable.

Check out the details on the latest updates below, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

One time purchase

We’ve completely overhauled the process for placing one-time orders to make it more intuitive and functional. This feature can, for example, be used for seasonal purchases. You can access this option under the three dots next to 'Purchase Orders' in the planning module (see image). It will show you all units needed for purchase, organized by segment and SKU.

By simply clicking 'Match needed', your draft purchase orders will adjust to meet your requirements based on placed sales plans and pre-orders, taking into account current and incoming inventory. Easy-peasy! You can save your changes, making it easy to resume where you left off when you come back.

There are also advanced options for setting Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) per product, supplier, or other attributes such as fabric type. Additionally, you can easily adjust supplier prices if necessary due to, for example, unmet MOQs and identify 'risk purchases' beyond confirmed future orders. Feel free to contact us for more details on how to leverage these features.

Transfer order recommendations in Purchase Plan

We've recently introduced more requested functionality in the Purchase Plan interface. Now, in addition to calculating the purchase orders you need to place, you can also project future transfer orders to optimize your inventory across multiple segments. Just select Purchases and transfers under Optimization method and click Optimize orders for Madden to show you which products (if any) should be transferred between locations to enhance your inventory turnover rate.

Upload draft Purchase Orders from file

Been planning your purchases in Excel? Importing your planned purchases from Excel into Madden is now easier than ever, allowing you to instantly see how they affect your future inventory levels, stock value, and other key metrics. Uploading these files and tracking their impact will help you make informed adjustments to your purchasing strategy. Simply go to Planning → Purchases & Transfers, click Create draft and select the From file tab. Here you'll find instructions and a sample file to help you easily upload your future purchase orders.

As you refine your sales and purchase plans in Madden, the uploaded quantities will update automatically. Admins can also view uploaded files and track how many rows remain unchanged within the settings menu.
